OSU football: J.D. King will transfer to Georgia Southern

J.D. King is heading closer to home.

King announced last month that he was leaving Oklahoma State amid his true sophomore season. On Saturday, he posted on Twitter that he intends to transfer to Georgia Southern in the Sun Belt Conference.

Georgia Southern’s campus is in Statesboro, which is about 120 miles from King’s hometown of Fitzgerald, Georgia.

King, a 5-foot-11, 211-pound running back, spent the last two seasons backing up All-Big 12 back Justice Hill.

As a freshman last season, King rushed for 469 yards on 99 carries. This year, he had 153 yards on 43 carries.
