OSU football: J.D. King transferring from program

Oklahoma State running back J.D. King announced his transfer plans on his Twitter account Monday afternoon.

King, a 5-foot-11 sophomore from Fitzgerald, Georgia, played in every home game as a backup the past two seasons. King didn't play during the Cowboys' 45-41 victory against West Virginia on Saturday.

King was OSU's second-leading rusher last season with 489 yards, but his workload diminished this year with the emergence of Chuba Hubbard into the running back rotation.

King ends his OSU career with 622 yards and four touchdowns on 142 attempts.

King's transfer leaves Justice Hill, Hubbard, LD Brown and Jahmyl Jeter as the remaining running backs on scholarship.
