STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s quarterback competition remains a mystery as Friday’s season opener at Oregon State approaches.
While virtually no one outside of the Cowboy locker room knows what to expect when the team takes the field at 9:30 p.m. Friday, former Oklahoma State quarterback Clint Chelf has an idea what it’s like to be in a Mike Gundy quarterback competition.
Chelf competed with J.W. Walsh and Wes Lunt in 2012, then shared time with Walsh in 2013. He joined The Oklahoman’s Cowboy Chronicles podcast this week to discuss some of the challenges he faced, providing an insider’s perspective on what current OSU quarterbacks Dru Brown and Spencer Sanders are dealing with.
