AMES, Iowa — Oklahoma State left tackle Victor Salako jumped too soon, drawing a penalty for a false start.
What a break.
For the Cowboys.
Down by three to Iowa State and facing a third-and-10 from their own 35 with time ticking away in the fourth quarter, the Cowboys seemed headed for a punt after Mason Rudolph's pass sailed well off target for David Glidden.
Except there laid the flag on Salako. And from there, it went as things seem to always go for these Cowboys, with Rudolph finding Glidden for 31 yards and Jeff Carr scoring six plays later for the game-winning touchdown.
