STILLWATER – The measurement of Oklahoma State's running game success in the coming months might come down to how often Mike Gundy's head swings on a swivel following handoffs.
A year ago, when the run game went mostly nowhere, the Cowboys produced but 11 rushing “explosive plays,” runs of 20 yards or longer. And only two came from feature back Desmond Roland.
Among the 11, two were provided by wide receivers, Brandon Sheperd and James Washington, and two more came from quarterback J.W. Walsh, who didn't play at all after Week 2.
So much for Tailback U.
