STILLWATER — Vili Leveni hobbled into the office of Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer about a month ago, bearing a heavy weight of frustration.
As a career overwhelmed by injuries was nearing its conclusion, Leveni was upset he couldn't contribute more.
“He knows he's not the old Vili,” Spencer said of the senior defensive end who had been a rock on the coach's front line throughout his career. “I just looked at him and said, ‘Are you giving us all you got?'
“I knew the answer. I just wanted to make him say it.”
Leveni responded with a simple “Yes, sir.
