OSU football: Could Cowboys' QB battle build intensity throughout team?

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Sean Gleeson says he wants the battle for the Cowboys’ quarterback job to be a dogfight, and his reasoning goes beyond the realm of choosing a starter.

“I want training camp to feel like a dogfight, because I think it's gonna harden our team and make us tougher and more disciplined,” Gleeson said. “We're gonna get somebody to come out of that thing and I'm excited.”

The quarterback battle that began last spring resumed with the start of preseason camp Thursday evening inside the Sherman E. Smith Training Center, with fifth-year senior Dru Brown and redshirt freshman Spencer Sanders setting the stage for what could be an intense competition throughout August.
