On Dec. 10, 2012, Colorado athletic director Mike Bohn announced Mike MacIntyre as the Buffaloes new head football coach.
MacIntyre had won 10 games that fall, leading San Jose State, and during his introductory CU news conference, Bohn said, “There's no question about it, we've hired a football coach that all Buffs can stand shoulder to shoulder with.”
However, less than six months later, Bohn was fired on the heels of a four-win season. The Buffs were winless in Pac-12 play the next year and managed just a single conference victory the following season.
Three years.
