Chuba Hubbard's dynamic speed finally was put on display in Oklahoma State's season opener Thursday night, and the showing was enough to earn the redshirt freshman co-Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors.
Hubbard's 149 total yards led the Cowboys. A running back from Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada, Hubbard made contributions as a runner, receiver and kick returner in OSU's 58-17 victory over Missouri State.
During a 54-yard touchdown reception, Hubbard showed off his elusiveness in dodging a Bears defender before sprinting to the end zone. It was the longest catch by an OSU running back since 2011.
