STILLWATER — Chuba Hubbard saw a wide-open field.
Not an Oklahoma defender in sight. Just the end zone 36 yards away and the large videoboard alongside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
This is the home-run play Oklahoma State’s superstar running back makes. It’s what’s made him a Heisman Trophy contender and Doak Walker Award finalist.
But Saturday night, there was no big play. There hasn’t been for weeks.
This time, OU safety Brendan Radley-Hiles dove and caught Hubbard by the foot for a 9-yard-gain early in the second quarter instead of the touchdown.
“They made great tackles,” Hubbard said following the 34-16 loss to OU on Saturday.
