Though Oklahoma State came out on the losing end of the Texas Bowl, Cowboy running back Chuba Hubbard’s big day was celebrated wildly in his hometown.
Average Joe’s, a sports bar in Sherwood Park, Alberta, celebrated Canada’s Cowboy by declaring Friday to be Chuba Hubbard Day.
All of the dozens of televisions in the bar were tuned to the Texas Bowl to watch Hubbard surpass the 2,000-yard mark in rushing yards for the season.
Even when the Edmonton Oilers hockey game began, TVs stayed tuned to OSU-Texas A&M.
The bar required reservations for the event, and was fully booked days before the game.
