SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — Phillip Lindsay pulled the black and gold sweatshirt up from his chest to proudly reveal the tattoo on his left pectoral.
Two words in black cursive ink — Family First — have come to define several generations of Lindsays, a proud football household with Denver roots who have printed the message on their skin. The men near their hearts. The women near their ankles. Phillip, a junior Colorado tailback, said, “I know I'd give anything to them, my life to them, and they would do the same.”
But blood isn't always thicker than alma mater, at least, not when it comes to the Alamo Bowl.
