When Cowboys receiver James Washington streaked 72 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, the sophomore passed the 1,000-yard mark receiving for the season.
“It just shows that I guess hard work pays off,” Washington said. “I work hard in practice all the time. I do what the coaches tell me to do. And I just try to do what I can to help my team win, really. That’s what it comes down to.”
Washington entered the game with 908 yards receiving, then led the Cowboys with seven catches for 169 yards. He became the first OSU receiver to reach that mark since Josh Stewart in 2012.
