STILLWATER — Oklahoma State linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga earned Big 12 Co-Special Teams Player of the Week Honors for his efforts in Saturday's 44-21 victory over Boise State, the league announced Monday.
Ogbongbemiga provided the first of the Cowboys' two blocked punts in the victory, shifting momentum in a 7-7 tie in the second quarter. The block allowed OSU to start its next drive at Boise State's 7-yard line, and rushing touchdown from quarterback Taylor Cornelius gave the Cowboys a lead it didn't relinquish in the victory.
Ogbongbemiga, who could've recorded a second blocked punt had freshman Jarrick Bernard not beaten him to it, said after the game that he's always taken pride in special teams work.
