STILLWATER — A.J. Green’s experience in the NFL Scouting combine got off to a slow start.
The former Oklahoma State cornerback was clocked at 4.62 seconds in the 40-yard dash — arguably the most important event of the day for Green. Only two cornerbacks ran slower 40 times.
After impressing with his coverage skills throughout his career and particularly during the week of the Senior Bowl with several NFL representatives in attendance, Green set himself back with his slow time Sunday in Indianapolis.
Green needed to show speed comparable to other cornerbacks at the combine to maintain his draft stock.
