OSU football: After bout with COVID-19, Trace Ford working back into shape

STILLWATER — Trace Ford has been one of the bigger buzz generators in Oklahoma State’s preseason camp because of his physical development heading into his sophomore season.

Yet on Wednesday, Ford said he was still out of shape after having COVID-19 during the summer. He tested positive in mid-July, according to his family.

Ford was listed at 227 pounds last season, but was up near 250 earlier this year. He says he lost weight and struggled to get back in shape after battling through a variety of coronavirus symptoms.

“I had the symptoms — no taste, no smell, the headaches, the sweat, the chills,” he said.
