Mike Boynton, the Brooklyn, New York native who just wrapped his second full season coaching at Oklahoma State, is drawing unexpected interest from St. John’s as the program looks to fill its coaching vacancy in the wake of firing alumnus Chris Mullin.
According to multiple media reports that surfaced on Wednesday and again. on Thursday, Boynton is among a handful of names the program is considering.
It appeared to start and end rather quickly on Wednesday night when a reporter from the New York Post mentioned Boynton’s name then quickly tweeted out that Boynton had no interest.
