STILLWATER — The Cowboys will be without their most dynamic ball-handler for the foreseeable future.
Avery Anderson, the team’s second-leading scorer and leading assist man, is scheduled to have surgery on his left wrist on Wednesday and is out indefinitely, Oklahoma State coach Mike Boynton said Monday. There is still a chance for Anderson to come back this season, but there is no timetable on a return as of yet. Anderson has averaged 11.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists this season. The points and rebounds averages are tops among OSU guards.
“He’s disappointed, but we’re encouraged that the surgery is going to be something that’s — I don’t know if there’s such thing as minor surgery, surgery is surgery — but it’s not a knee,” Boynton said.
