A swat-steeped week earned Oklahoma State freshman center Yor Anei not only the Big 12's blocks title, but also one of the conference's final weekly honors.
Anei was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on Monday after blocking 14 shots in victories over Baylor and West Virginia. After recording six blocks against the Bears, Anei denied eight shots from the Mountaineers, becoming the first Cowboy to reach that total in a contest since Andre Williams in 2002 while setting an OSU freshman record.
“I try to block everything that's down there,” Anei said after the victory.
