Oklahoma State coach Mike Boynton mixed up the starting lineup Sunday afternoon at Houston.
Walk-on sophomore point guard Dee Mitchell started in the absence of star Isaac Likekele, who missed a third straight game due to an illness.
It’s Mitchell’s first career start. Freshman Chris Harris Jr., who is not a natural point guard, started the past two games for Likekele. Avery Anderson III remains a key player off the bench.
But Boynton likes the steadiness Mitchell has shown since he joined the team Jan. 17. He also likes having a true point guard in the starting lineup that allows the normal rotations to return, even without Likekele.
