TULSA — Oklahoma State coach Mike Boynton knew Dee Mitchell would need time to process the news.
So, Boynton pulled Mitchell aside before scouting film Sunday morning.
Mitchell would start for the first time in his career that afternoon for the Cowboys.
Against Houston — a program that made the Sweet Sixteen a year ago — a walk-on sophomore who joined the team 11 months ago in an emergency situation was getting his shot.
Anxiety flowed through Mitchell as he battled to hide it. His moment had arrived.
“Anything is possible,” Mitchell said. “I always keep that in mind.
