STILLWATER — A segment of the Oklahoma State basketball team’s Monday practice involved the Cowboys up eight points, 3:43 left on the clock and Yor Anei at the free-throw line.
The drill mimicked a scenario from OSU’s season-opening 66-64 loss to Charlotte in which the Cowboys blew a 24-point lead. In the game, Anei, one of OSU’s six freshmen to make their collegiate debut in the defeat, missed both of those free-throw attempts, and the 49ers’ rally continued as the Cowboys failed to make a field goal in the final 7:36.
OSU junior Lindy Waters was called for a questionable flagrant foul with the Cowboys up three that sent Charlotte’s Jon Davis to the line and gave the 49ers the next possession, on which Davis hit a go-ahead 3-pointer.
