STILLWATER — Yale was doing its best to keep Lindy Waters III from getting open, but every attempt did not matter.
Oklahoma State’s senior was taking over when it mattered most.
Wearing a turquoise Nike N7 jersey to honor his Native American heritage, Waters caught fire when OSU needed him most during Sunday’s 64-57 win over Yale at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Waters hit back-to-back 3-pointers in less than 60 seconds and followed with a big turnaround jumper with 31.2 seconds remaining to break open a game that Yale hung around as OSU struggled offensively.
Waters finished with 19 points and five rebounds, making 8 of 18 shots.
