OSU basketball journal: Second-half collapse dooms Cowboys in loss to Baylor

OSU led 32-27 at the half against Baylor, but was slow to start in the second half, scoring just eight points with seven turnovers through the first 10 minutes.

While the Cowboys eventually engaged, the beginning of the second half flipped momentum and fueled the Bears to a 69-65 win.

“We've just got to be mentally focused for 40 minutes,” said Cowboys junior Leyton Hammonds. “We had times where we had mental collapses. And that resulted in fouls, resulted in turnovers, resulted in easy buckets for them.

“So we're just going to have to be mentally strong for 40 minutes, instead of 10 in the first half, and then 30 minutes like we don't know how to play basketball anymore.
