Jawun Evans’ arrival in Stillwater will be delayed.
The Cowboys’ incoming freshman point guard has duty to country.
Evans made the final cut for the U19 Team USA basketball roster Wednesday, putting him in line to play in the FIBA World Championships in Greece later this month.
From an initial tryout group of 21 players, Evans made the 12-man team that will continue training in Colorado Springs, before traveling to Greece, where the U.S. team will face Iran in its opener on June 27.
Evans, OSU’s premium recruit out of Dallas Kimball High School, is the third Cowboy to represent his country on the U19 squad, joining Matt Clark and Marcus Smart.
