STILLWATER — Could this be the year Eddie Sutton makes the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame?
There’s at least a chance.
Sutton was again named a finalist for induction on Friday, the hall of fame announced. This is his seventh time to be a finalist.
“He’s definitely a Hall of Fame coach to me,” former OSU forward Terry Collins recently said. “He gave me an opportunity of a lifetime that I’ll always remember. Just one of the greatest coaches that I had.”
Sutton coached the Cowboys to two Final Fours from 1990-2006. He is one of eight collegiate coaches with 800 career victories, but the only one not already inducted.
