KANSAS CITY, Mo — Oklahoma State star point guard Isaac Likekele had no timeouts and no other option.
Go the length of the court. Go to the basket.
And he did.
Likekele made a driving layup with 5 seconds remaining to lift the Cowboys to a late 72-71 victory over Iowa State in the opening game of the Big 12 Tournament in the Sprint Center on Wednesday night.
OSU will play No. 1-ranked Kansas at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
Likekele finished with 21 points, nine assists and five rebounds.
Iowa State took a one-point lead with 8 seconds remaining on a dunk from Tre Jackson, who had an open lane to the basket when Yor Anei fell.
