STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s 73-69 loss Monday to Baylor followed a similar pattern to much of what the Cowboys endured in conference play during Mike Boynton’s first season as coach.
Midweek losses regularly followed big weekend victories as the Cowboys failed to capitalize on momentum. Saturday road wins over ranked foes Kansas and West Virginia preceded home losses to middle-of-the-pack opponents Baylor and Kansas State.
In all, OSU went 6-2 in conference games played on Saturdays and 2-8 otherwise. After Monday’s defeat that followed another road victory over the Mountaineers, the Cowboys are 3-10 in non-Saturday Big 12 games during Boynton’s tenure.
