STILLWATER — Oklahoma State opened Big 12 play with a loss for the third straight season, falling 69-63 to Iowa State on Wednesday night in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
A Michael Weathers layup with 2:23 to play cut OSU’s deficit to three points, prompting coach Mike Boynton to smack Eddie Sutton Court three times. But Cyclone guard Lindell Wigginton answered with a 3 on the other end to quiet OSU’s home crowd.
OSU was led offensively by Cam McGriff, who posted his second straight double-double and fourth off the season with 15 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. It was only the Cowboys’ second loss when McGriff scored at least 12 points.
