That just opened the door for the Cowboys, who recruited Williams hard in the past few months.
Williams told SI.com that playing with Cunningham — a five-star point guard from Montverde Academy (Florida) — was very appealing. Williams also grew close with OSU coach Mike Boynton.
The Cowboys have no scholarships remaining for the 2020 class, which includes Putnam West’s Rondel Walker, Arlington Martin (Texas) power forward Montreal Pena and Orangeville Prep (Ontario, Canada) forward Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe. The Cowboys are also expected to add graduate transfer Ferron Flavors Jr. from Cal Baptist.
