Oklahoma State signee Jawun Evans was named one of 16 finalists for the 12-man U19 USA Basketball roster that will compete at the FIBA World Championships in Greece later this month.
Training camp began on June 13 with 21 players, but was whittled down to the 16 finalists on Monday. The finalists will continue to train in Colorado Springs, Colo., until the final roster is released by USA Basketball prior to the team’s departure to Greece. USA Basketball opens play against Iran on June 27.
If selected to the roster, Evans will become the third OSU Cowboy to represent his country on the U19 squad.
