Travis Ford has long stressed developing quality depth and finding production from a number of sources. Never has that been the case more than this season, with Oklahoma State star power at a minimum.
Yet like a lot of coaches, Ford has mostly shrunken his circle of trust, operating with a quick hook and never really going all in on affording extended time to bench players trying to find their way.
In the early going this season, Ford's hand is being forced. And it may prove fruitful.
With the Cowboys down two starters and two reserves due to injury, illness and suspension, Ford is reaching out to his role players.
