TULSA – Jawun Evans was injured and out. Phil Forte didn't start and the 21 minutes he did play were accompanied by a limp. Jeffrey Carroll cramped and played just nine minutes in the second half.
That's Oklahoma State's top three scorers. And Tavarius Shine missed his third straight game.
Cue the freshmen.
The Cowboys, who played five freshmen together at one point, got 19 of their final 23 points from the kids and pulled out a 71-67 road win over Tulsa before 7,333 at the Reynolds Center.
“I love this freshman group,” said OSU coach Brad Underwood.
