In its first nonconference game against a reigning national champion since 1980, the Oklahoma State basketball team fell to Villanova, 77-58, in the semifinals of the AdvoCare Invitational on Friday in Kissimmee, Florida.
The Cowboys will play the loser of LSU and Florida State in the tournament’s third-place game at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Here are three takeaways from OSU’s loss to the Wildcats.

Villanova redshirt senior Eric Paschall entered the game having made only four of his 23 3-point attempts. He surpassed that in Friday’s first half, making six of his seven attempts from deep and scoring 20 points as the Wildcats went into halftime up 42-26.
