STILLWATER — Cam McGriff rose from the floor, seemingly poised to bring life to Gallagher-Iba Arena. But his dunk attempt met the rim.
It was that kind of day for the Cowboys, who became undefeated Houston's eighth victim with a 63-53 loss Saturday. McGriff's failed dunk would've put OSU down four with under six minutes to play; instead, the Cougars scored at the other end and the Cowboys never again got within five.
The Cowboys are 4-5, having a losing record through nine games for the first time since 1986-87. That team finished 8-20.
Here are three takeaways from OSU's third straight loss.
