STILLWATER — In Mike Boynton’s two seasons at the helm, Oklahoma State has been picked to finish last in the Big 12. They’ve avoided it both times.
An 85-77 victory over West Virginia on Saturday in what was effectively the conference’s ninth-place game allowed the Cowboys to dodge the conference's cellar, avoiding what would’ve been their first last-place finish in the Big 12’s existence.
Yor Anei set an OSU freshman record with eight blocks, becoming only the third Cowboy to reach that total and the first since 2002. Anei was effectively offensively, as well, scoring 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting.
