STILLWATER — The six new faces at Oklahoma State’s basketball practice Monday wore practice jerseys from a year ago, but their shorts lacked the same consistency.
The nine Cowboys who endured a week that featured two losses and three dismissed teammates had team-issued black shorts with “DEFENSE” printed across the back, but their six new teammates wore shorts of various colors, with white, gray, orange, silver and black adorning what coach Mike Boynton called “a semi-practice squad” derived from the 50 or so students who participated in Thursday’s walk-on tryouts.
The program is awaiting approval from OSU’s compliance office before announcing the six new Cowboys, who were required to be full-time students who had proof of health insurance and a recent physical and sickle cell test to try out.
