STILLWATER — Cam McGriff had no idea the feat he just accomplished Monday inside Oklahoma State’s weight room.
Twenty-three bench-press reps of 185 pounds was already a personal best. But then he learned no NBA player had reached that total at the combine since 2011.
“I take a little bit of pride in that,” McGriff said flashing a smile during Tuesday’s preseason media day for the upcoming basketball season.
McGriff is one of five returning seniors and one of the three unquestioned leaders of the Cowboys, who add seven new players in total. A 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward who has become a fan favorite, he’s a steady force.
