Cade Cunningham is one step closer to another prestigious award.
Cunningham, an Oklahoma State signee, was named one of three finalists for the Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year Award on Thursday.
The award is given annually for outstanding athletic excellence, high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character on and off the court.
But when it will be given this year has yet to be determined. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the announcement has been postponed.
A five-star senior from Montverde Academy (Florida), the Arlington, Texas, native was already named the Naismith High School Player of the Year earlier this month.
