FORT WORTH, Texas — Before Cam McGriff fouled out with a minute and 19 seconds to play in Wednesday’s loss to TCU, Oklahoma State coach Mike Boynton hadn’t made a substitution in 7 1/2 minutes.
With their starters on the floor, the Cowboys turned a two-point deficit into a two-point lead, but after McGriff headed to the bench, a game-tying 3-pointer from Thomas Dziagwa with 5.6 seconds left was the Cowboys’ only basket, a late quiet spell that proved costly in a 70-68 loss to the Horned Frogs.
As the season continues, though, the cause of concern could shift to the time McGriff and other Cowboys are actually spending on the court.
