LAWRENCE, Kansas — With a one-handed dunk in Allen Fieldhouse, from the same spot on the historic floor where he ignited Oklahoma State to an upset with a slam last season, Cam McGriff brought the Cowboys’ thin bench to its feet, passionately yelling in its direction. Meanwhile, Kansas fans booed in chorus.
The Jayhawk faithful has few reasons to boo from then on in KU’s 84-72 victory Saturday. McGriff’s dunk brought a struggling OSU team within 53-51 of a Kansas squad watching its hopes of a 15th straight Big 12 title slip, but the No. 13 Jayhawks responded with a 12-0 run that provided all the cushion they needed.
