STILLWATER – Friday marks the beginning of college basketball practice across the country.
In Stillwater, too.
Oklahoma State, under the guidance of coach Mike Boynton, opened its preseason practice Friday at 6 a.m.. The early start had long been scheduled, well before the Tuesday news that former Cowboys assistant coach Lamont Evans was involved and arrested as part of a federal investigation targeting corruption and bribery in college basketball.
Evans was suspended by OSU immediately and fired on Thursday.
Boynton, who has so far not been connected to Evans' alleged wrongdoing, remains the Cowboys coach as the team heads toward the start of the season.
