NORMAN — The 11th-ranked OU baseball team set a Big 12 record Wednesday night in its 13-2 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
The Sooner pitchers combined for 21 strikeouts to set a conference mark for a nine-inning game. Freshman Jake Bennett (2-0) struck out nine batters in four perfect innings to get the win. Sophomore Ben Abram had four strikeouts in two innings, and the Sooners got an inning each from senior Braxton Webb (two strikeouts), junior Carson Carter (three strikeouts) and freshman Christian Ruebeck (three strikeouts).
Junior right fielder Tanner Tredaway led the Sooners (11-3) at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, three runs batted in and two runs scored.
