STILLWATER — It’s officially a presidential affair for Oklahoma State’s grand opening of O’Brate Stadium.
Former President George W. Bush will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the first baseball game is played in the new stadium Friday, March 20, the university announced.
Bush’s first pitch is set for 5:49 p.m. The game against TCU is set to start at 6:02 p.m.
Bush and Cecil O’Brate, the stadium’s namesake, have had a longstanding relationship. Bush also delivered the keynote address at OSU’s 2006 commencement ceremony.
“Frances and I had a vision for Cowboy baseball, and we’re excited to see Oklahoma State University Athletics make O’Brate Stadium a reality,” O’Brate said in a release.
