Cowboy outfielder Garrett McCain was named a second team All-American by Baseball America, it was announced Thursday. The junior left-fielder was the driving force in Oklahoma State’s late-season hot streak that gave OSU a Big 12 tournament title and earned the team a slot in the postseason.
An all-conference first team honoree, McCain led his team in almost every offensive statistic they have columns for. He led the Big 12 in batting average (.388), on-base percentage (.491) and hits (87).
McCain recorded 13 multiple-RBI games including a great weekend in Bricktown where he strung together back-to-back games with four RBIs against West Virginia and then three against Texas.
