After Stetson's offensive outburst in the fifth inning, the Oklahoma State baseball team never recovered.
Stetson stormed past the Cowboys 10-3 in an NCAA regional game Saturday in DeLand, Florida.
The Hatters, the regional host, posted a five-run fifth inning against relief pitcher Jensen Elliott. Elliott replaced starter and losing pitcher Joe Lienhard, who threw for three innings and permitted two runs.
Top-seeded Stetson took the lead in the first inning, but third-seeded OSU caught up when second baseman Andrew Rosa blasted a home run down the left-field line. Rosa also hit an RBI double in a ninth-inning attempt to give the Cowboys' offense a last spark of life.
