STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s baseball team had a banner year in the classroom.
A program-record 10 players were named to the Academic All-Big 12 Baseball first team on Wednesday.
Overall, 14 players were named to the team, the second-best total in program history. The 2016 Cowboys had 15 selections.
Senior C.J. Varela was selected to the first team for a third time. Other first-team selections included seniors Max Hewitt, Ben Leeper, Carson McCusker, Jacob Rude and Ryan Van Leeuwen. Also, juniors Dylan Gardner and Noah Sifrit, sophomore Roman Phansalkar and redshirt freshman Josh Spiegel were selected for first team.
