OSU baseball commit drafted in second round

The Colorado Rockies drafted Oklahoma State baseball recruit and Stillwater High School standout Ryan Vilade in the second round of Monday's MLB Draft. He was taken 48th overall.

Vilade was taken as a third baseman and is listed at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds. He was Gatorade's Oklahoma Baseball Player of the Year.

He is OSU assistant coach James Vilade's son.

Vilade will have the choice of joining the Rockies organization or playing at OSU with a chance to be redrafted in 2020.

MLB's approximate pick value for the 48th pick is $1.4 million.
