OSU baseball: Bats support Parker Scott's strong start in rout of Texas

STILLWATER — With a college career that had become defined more by injuries than his potential, Parker Scott showed Friday night what Oklahoma State coaches thought he could be when he arrived two years ago.

Making just his second start of the season, Scott allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out eight Texas batters in the Cowboys’ 10-2 rout at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

Scott appeared in six games his freshman season of 2017 before an injury ended his season, then he sat out last year after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

On Friday night, the 6-foot-1 sophomore left-hander was dialed in, throwing 65 of 99 pitches for strikes in seven innings of work.
