OSU baseball assistant Mark Ginther joins West Virginia staff

In addition to replacing its shortstop, left fielder and two-thirds of its weekend rotation in 2019, the Oklahoma State baseball team will need a new first-base coach.

West Virginia announced Tuesday it has hired OSU volunteer assistant coach Mark Ginther as an assistant coach on Randy Mazey's staff. Ginther, an OSU infielder from 2009-12, had been on the Cowboys' staff in some capacity since completing his professional career in 2012, serving as a volunteer student coach, graduate manager and player development coordinator before three seasons as volunteer assistant coach. In that role, Ginther replaced Steve Sabins, who he joins on the West Virginia staff.
